Traffic Trigger!
Does traffic trigger anyone else?
I find that traffic is a serious trigger for me, it frustrates me, angers me, makes me emotional and down right brings me to tears.
My eldest started school this year and up until a week or two ago mornings were fairly smooth sailing with the traffic, it was there but it was moving traffic. Manageable, we manoeuvred our way through it all, a little irritation but nothing tear jerking. We even started leaving 5 to 10 minutes earlier and it felt good, we were on top of things, I dropped Mr 5 at school and Mr 3, Mr 21 months and I would walk and have a coffee and well let the rest of the day take over.
But just recently leaving earlier, only to take more than double the amount of time to get to school. It is now taking us at lest 25 minutes just to leave our Suburb, and in this time, I just want to scream, hoot and just freak out! I have been reduced to tears, with a million thoughts through my mind, one being I want to move out closer to his school a km or 2 away, walking distance perhaps, then I feel more frustrated. The traffic makes you feel stuck! Literally and figurately too sometimes. Seeing cars and taxis driving on the oncoming lane behaving like they’re the only ones in a hurry is a trigger, I mean we are all waiting, join the que, basic manners, right?
So, the other day while feeling a little down wanting to change things, I realised that I needed more time to change things for the way that I want it to be, to manifest my dreams. But for now, I needed a quick solution, so today we left even earlier, and even though the traffic started building up it was manageable, bearable. Here’s to hoping we can keep this up!
We all have our triggers, sometimes we just need a quick solution to alleviate the stress. Does traffic trigger you, let me know your thoughts in the comments.
For now,
The Coffee Mum
xx
