Potions

P.S this was written in April of 2023.. But I deleted and re-designed my website hence the 2024 date! 🙂

It’s a Friday afternoon, we’re visiting with my parents as we usually do on a Friday. But what’s unusual is Mr 2 and Mr 8 months are taking a nap and while Mr 4 plays with his Grandpa I figured why not work on my blog. I’ve forgotten my laptop, as I left in a rush this morning so I’m sitting here with my phone, next to my sleeping babies with the headphones on watching The Resident (I love medical dramas, yes Grey’s is my all time fav) I’m working because I don’t know how to relax.

Anyway enough rambling.

Potions, aah yes potions what incredible fun. We do this regularly, it’s messy and such a great sensory experience. It’s science at its best as you watch the bicarb react to the vinegar. Throw in some bowls, pots, spoons, ladles and you’re making potions and having fun.

Recipe

1c bicarbonate of soda

1/2 c citric acid

Colour powders

1/2 c Vinegar

2c Water

2 T Dishwashing liquid soap

I mix the bicarb and citric acid, then separate into bowls and add different colour’s.

Mix the vinegar water and soap in a jug and pour into smaller jugs or bottles.

Then let the little ones pour the liquid into the powders and make magic.

***I like to add confetti, beads and other Nik naks into the powder for a cool effect!

***Disclaimer: Adult supervision is needed at all times when engaging in our activities. Never leave you baby/toddler unattended.
